Pre-Press Artworker/ Designer

Outskirts of Maidstone – own transport required

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Designer to join our client on the outskirts of Maidstone, with on-site parking. This role involves preparing and managing artwork for print and packaging, using tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Caldera, while also assisting with packaging design and prototypes.

This role is ideal for someone who is looking to work for a warm, welcoming and collaborative team. No two days are the same, this position would be great for someone who is ambitious, flexible and organised.

PLEASE NOTE, MY CLIENT CANNOT OFFER SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS PERMANENT POSITION AND THEREFORE WE CAN ONLY CONSIDER CANDIDATES WITH PERMANENT RTW IN THE UK.

Duties include:

  • Edit and prepare artwork from customers or agencies, ensuring it’s ready for printing and production.
  • Manage artwork flow to the print shop using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Support the design team in maintaining processes and studio standards.
  • Ensure high levels of accuracy, detail, and file organisation.
  • Work on packaging and display designs using CAD software.
  • Create prototypes using CNC cutting tables and digital printers based on customer briefs.

The successful candidate will have/be:

  • Experience in artwork preparation, preferably for large-format print or packaging.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Caldera.
  • Practical, with a strong sense of design and the ability to think in 3D.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, with good numeracy.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Experience creating artwork from guidelines or briefs.
  • Understanding of print processes is desirable.
