Sub – Editor

12-month FTC

Part Time – 24 hours per week

Maidstone, Office Based

This is a rare and exciting part time opening which will not be around for long!

Working in large open plan offices in Maidstone, you will be part of a small team, working often only with 1 or 2 other people and sometimes alone.

Supporting the Executive Officer of a non-profit organisation who offer invaluable advice and guidance to a very niche sector, your duties will be varied and require a real all-rounder.

Duties for the Sub – Editor role include:

  • Collating and agreeing content with the Executive Officer.
  • Reviewing content for publications and newsletters, editing and writing copy
  • Typing up copy and press cuttings.
  • Arranging the sourcing of photographs.
  • Obtaining permissions where necessary for publication of content.
  • Contacting publishers/authors to obtain books to review.
  • Editing and reviewing papers, ensuring visuals are in place.
  • Preparing advertising content.
  • Reviewing large spreadsheets; analysing data; spotting anomalies.
  • Preparing reports from data interrogation and collating statistics.
  • Document management.
  • Attending a four-day annual conference.
  • Answering the telephone and being first point of contact for all enquiries.
  • Liaising with various internal and external stakeholders: suppliers; customers.
  • Any other ad hoc administrative duties as required.

The successful candidate will have/be:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to commit to working 24 hours per week in Maidstone.
  • Strong grasp of the English language.

  • Experience analysing data.
  • Excellent administrative skills.
