Our client, a respected player in the fresh produce sector, is seeking an experienced Hygiene Supervisor to lead their evening hygiene team and uphold the highest standards in a fast-paced packhouse environment.

About the role:
Working closely with production, technical, and quality teams, you’ll oversee all hygiene activity across the site. From team leadership and audits to chemical safety and compliance, you’ll be the go-to expert ensuring every area is safe, clean, and audit-ready.
Your hours:
Start between 3:00pm and 4:00pm - finish at 12:30am (8-9 hour shifts), full-time evenings
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and motivating the hygiene team across the facility
- Planning and executing hygiene schedules for production areas, storage, and equipment
- Ensuring compliance with BRCGS, HACCP, and retailer standards
- Conducting regular audits and resolving any hygiene issues swiftly
- Training staff in safe chemical use, cleaning techniques, and hygiene best practice
- Managing cleaning stock and equipment safely and efficiently
- Collaborating with other departments to integrate hygiene into daily operations
- Promoting a strong health and safety culture, always
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in a hygiene supervisory role, ideally in food production or packhouse settings
- Strong understanding of food hygiene regulations and standards
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a high attention to detail
- Calm under pressure, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
Desirable qualifications:
- HACCP certification or relevant food safety training
- Knowledge of COSHH
- Background in fresh produce or soft fruit environments
Pay & Perks:
Starting at £14.50 per hour, paid weekly. This will be reviewed after a 12-week probation period based on performance. You’ll be supported with training and have access to long-term career growth opportunities.
