Care Assistant – Supporting a Young Gentleman in Paddock Wood, Tonbridge, Kent

Are you a compassionate and patient individual looking to make a real difference in someone's life? TLTP Medical is currently recruiting for a Care Assistant to provide dedicated support to a young gentleman with complex medical needs in Paddock Wood, Tonbridge, Kent.

Although his medical needs may seem challenging on paper, the service describes him as an absolute gem to work with. We are looking for someone who can provide ongoing, long-term support, as continuity is essential for his wellbeing.

About the Role:

  • Shift Patterns:
    • Day shifts: 8 AM – 8 PM
    • Night shifts (waking): 7 PM – 9 AM (occasional)
    • Split shifts may occur to ensure safe and effective support, so flexibility is required.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Providing personal care and medication administration.
    • Supporting the client with community access and daily activities.
    • Ensuring consistent and high-quality care to meet his evolving needs.
    • Engaging with his support network, including family and carers, via a WhatsApp group to share important updates.
    • Attending an initial meet-and-greet with the current carer and his mother to ensure compatibility.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A caring and patient individual with a commitment to long-term support.
  • Experience in personal care and medication administration.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights when required.
  • Someone who values consistency and understands the importance of building trust with the client.

Medical Background of the Client:

The young gentleman has complex care needs, including but not limited to:

  • Moderate Learning Disability
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Epilepsy (various seizure types)
  • Respiratory failure & asthma (requires oxygen for 16+ hours a day)
  • PEG-J feeding
  • Moderate hearing loss (left ear) & short-sightedness
  • History of aspiration pneumonia & chronic respiratory conditions
