We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Practitioner in Science to join our team. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Director of Science to enhance Teaching, Learning, and Assessment within the Science Department. This role is pivotal in driving academic excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in science education across the academy and the wider Trust.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Collaborate with the Science Department to develop and implement strategies for outstanding teaching and learning.
  • Mentor and support teachers within the department to raise standards of student attainment and achievement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of a bespoke curriculum that inspires and engages students.
  • Lead by example, delivering high-quality science lessons across various key stages.
  • Participate in the wider Teaching, Learning, and Assessment team to promote excellence across the academy.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A proven track record of outstanding teaching in Science.
  • The ability to evidence progress towards meeting the responsibilities of a Lead Practitioner.
  • A recognised Lead Practitioner accreditation is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development.
