Teaching Assistant – Maidstone

Full-Time, Long-Term Contract Until July 2025

Supply Desk are seeking passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support children and young people in both mainstream and SEND settings across Maidstone and surrounding areas. These long-term, full-time roles offer the opportunity to work in 'Good' or 'Outstanding' schools, with the potential to become a permanent member of the school’s teams.

We are looking for individuals who are ready to make a real difference to students aged 11-18, some of whom come from challenging backgrounds and may require additional emotional and academic support. Whether you have experience working in mainstream settings, with special educational needs (SEND), or both, we would love to hear from you.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting young people, either on a 1:1 basis or in group settings.
  • Be patient, understanding, and able to work effectively with students who may present challenging behaviour.
  • Ideally have experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or other special educational needs.
  • Possess or be willing to gain training in Makaton, PECS, or Team Teach (preferred but not essential).
  • Be flexible, proactive, and able to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Have an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Be committed to full-time work and able to support students throughout the academic year.

Salary: £80 to £100 per day, depending on experience.
