Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic chef to prepare and serve meals for both our care home residents and school students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a strong understanding of dietary requirements, and the ability to create varied and balanced menus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare meals in accordance with dietary needs and preferences.
- Ensure all meals are nutritious, well-presented, and served on time.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with care home and school staff to accommodate special dietary requirements.
- Supervise kitchen assistants and provide training as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a chef, preferably in a care home or school setting.
- Knowledge of dietary needs and restrictions for different age groups.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- A valid DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service).
- Relevant culinary qualifications.
