Assembly Operative

Maidstone

c.£27k + OT + 25 days annual leave + BH

44 hours per week, Monday to Friday – DAYS only!

Pearson Whiffin Recruitment are proud to be working exclusively with a well-established manufacturing company based in the Maidstone area who are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Assembly Operative to join their fast-paced factory on a full time, permanent basis.

Duties for this role include:

  • Working as part of a small team supporting the production of metal-based product line
  • Reading and accurately interpreting technical drawings, assembling products to meet specifications
  • Working in a targeted factory environment
  • Using a range of tools and machinery to include bandsaws, chop saws and other hand tools
  • Supporting health and safety processes through correct maintenance of equipment as well as regular cleaning and housekeeping
  • Supporting continuous improvement by working with the Production Manager to spot and eliminate any issues
  • Working to the production schedule

Working in a busy metal fabrication environment, the successful candidate must have:

  • Some solid, relevant experience in a practical ‘hands on’ role
  • The ability to use hand tools safely
  • A proven track record in maintaining a role on a permanent basis demonstrating reliability and work ethic
  • A good level of physical fitness, able to carry out heavy lifting on a daily basis – this is essential due to the nature of the role
  • A desire to develop a career within manufacturing
  • Good communication skills with an understanding of how to present yourself within a workplace environment
  • Excellent timekeeping skills
