Job Opportunity: Case Handler - Cargo Claims

We are seeking dedicated and proactive Case Handlers to join our Clients dynamic Cargo Claims Department. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals to become part of a busy team, supporting cargo underwriters across SE Asia, the Far East, and the Indian Sub-Continent. With approximately 3,000 claims handled annually, this role offers exposure to a fast-paced, rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of cargo claims from initial notification through to final settlement.
  • Manage correspondence and maintain accurate file administration, ensuring timely registration and protection of time bars.
  • Appoint and oversee marine surveyors, survey agents, and other experts, ensuring high standards of technical quality and service.
  • Collaborate with claimants to investigate the cause of damage and gather the necessary claims documentation.
  • Interpret marine insurance policies and advise underwriters on their liability.
  • Provide recommendations to underwriters regarding the settlement of claims.
  • Prepare periodic status reports for underwriters on open and settled claims.

About You:

  • Law, Mariners or P&I background
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a busy caseload.
  • Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively collaborate with a team while managing individual responsibilities.
