Reed Business Support are delighted to be assisting our established client in Maidstone with the recruitment of an Operations Manager to join their busy, collaborative team.

This is a key role where you’ll be the bridge between the UK and France-based teams, supporting customer service, supply chain operations, and logistics to ensure products are available when and where they’re needed. You’ll take the lead on forecasting, planning, and ensuring smooth order fulfilment – all while keeping customers happy and operations running like clockwork.

You’ll report to the General Manager and work closely with local finance, UK sales & marketing, and the planning & customer services team in France.

Operations Manager What You’ll Be Doing:

Customer Order Fulfilment & Supply Chain Coordination

  • Maintain a rolling 12-month product forecast and validate plans with the central team in France.
  • Lead monthly forecasting meetings with distributors and convert projections into confirmed orders.
  • Coordinate the shipment of goods across the UK, France, and Ireland while ensuring compliance with post-Brexit logistics requirements.
  • Manage all relevant documentation including invoices, certificates of analysis, and packing lists.
  • Monitor short-dated stock and report financial impact.
  • Track and report on logistics performance, stock availability, and customer service KPIs.
  • Align stock planning with promotional activity, product launches and phase-outs.
  • Support budget planning and seasonal sales forecasts.
  • Assist the Warehouse Supervisor during peak times to ensure order fulfilment.
  • Act as the go-to contact for all fulfilment-related queries.

Operations Manager Sales Order Desk Support

  • Process dealer orders, ensuring accuracy in pricing, offers, and discounts.
  • Liaise with finance on account status before processing orders.
  • Input orders into the ERP system (AX), reserve stock and generate pick lists.
  • Notify dealers of stock issues or expiry dates and confirm delivery timelines.
  • Handle shipping paperwork and label generation via the freight portal.
  • Track shipments and follow up with invoices and delivery updates.
  • Manage backorders and maintain up-to-date dealer account records.
  • Support the Field Sales team with demo stock and promotional literature requests.

Operations ManagerAbout You:

Essential:

  • A recognised qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field.
  • Strong experience in stock planning, forecasting and customer service.
  • Confident using Excel (advanced level).
  • Familiar with ERP systems and order processing workflows.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

  • Certifications in APICS, Logistics or International Trade.
