Procurement Manager (Electrical / Mechanical / CIPS)£60,000 - £65,000 + 25 Days Holiday + Private Healthcare + Training + Progression + Discretionary Bonus + Electric Car SchemeNear MaidstoneAre you a Procurement Manager from a manufacturing background seeking a key role in a high-growth SME which has doubled in size in the last 18 months?On offer is an opportunity to play a crucial role in the businesses ongoing success and growth, where they are seeking a highly motivated, skilled individual to lead the purchasing function within the Operations team.In this role, you will play a key part in determining procurement strategy, developing robust reporting and monitoring systems and coordinating inventory levels.The company is a leading provider of fully integrated power, monitoring, and control systems in the marine, vehicle, and off-grid markets, which combine renewable energy sources with traditional power sources, enabling reduced emissions and improved energy efficiency. As an experienced procurement professional you will be CIPS Level 5 or above and be management a small team providing strategic planning, performance management and supplier relationships.The role:
- Managing purchasing activities, including working with suppliers, obtaining quotes, and ensuring they have good visibility on order schedules.
- Placing purchase orders for materials, goods, and services, ensuring timely delivery and cost consideration.
- Monitoring inventory levels and work to maintain an accurate and efficient stock of materials needed for production.
- Maintaining supplier relationships and monitoring supplier performance for quality and delivery timescales.
- Resolving any procurement issues, such as delays or quality concerns, and working with suppliers to address them.
- Leading and developing robust stock control processes
- Monitoring internal and external customer order schedules and ensure the correct stock is in place to support timely order dispatch in line with customer requirements.
- Collaborating with the operations and manufacturing teams to ensure the timely availability of materials and resources.
The person:
- CIPS level 5 or 6 qualified (comparable to a Batchelors degree) or equivalent industry experience
- Have significant experience in procurement, preferably from within a manufacturing environment (ideally leading a team)
