Transport Night Manager
Night shift - Monday to Friday 21:00 to 07.30
Our client a large logistics and distribution company have an exciting opportunity for anyone looking for a career in their transport department, while managing a team of Transport operatives. This role is a pivotal part in achieving getting over 1000 deliveries around all areas of the UK each day. Purpose of the role:
You will have overall responsibility for planning and despatching the drivers and loads on time during the night. As the Nightshift Supervisor your duty will be to ensure that our admin team has created all relevant paperwork for the drivers, ready for them and their load to be despatched in the most efficient and economical way. Be able to react and effectively respond to challenges that could occur while managing the transport team overnight.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support with the leading and motivation of a team of transport operatives to ensure that the daily targets are met.
路 Planning/overload resolution
路 Phone call receipt and action
路 Administration of driver paperwork
路 Crisis delivery management
路 Night load dispatch
路 Creation of Warehouse reporting and communication
路 Processing Goods inward loads and paperwork
路 De-Brief drivers.
路 Adhere to all company policies and procedures including HR, Health & Safety and Quality Additional Responsibilities
Key Skills:
路 Experience in planning of multi drop deliveries.
路 Knowledge of driver鈥檚 regulations for planning of hours etc.
路 Empathy.
路 A good team player.
路 Outstanding communication skills, to be able to liaise with Clients, third parties and a variety of internal departments.
路 Calm, organised individual, able to work under pressure, remain calm and professional when dealing with emotional, difficult, or distressed people.
- Can do attitude to solve problems and address solutions for both the Client and the business alike.
- Outstanding organisational skills to ensure efficient work ethic.
- Excellent IT skills and be proficient in the use of Excel and Word
