Product Team Leader

My client is recruiting an Product Team Leader join their leading Pigment Colourants manufacturer based in Kent. As Product Team Leader you will be responsible for overseeing programs aimed at improving raw material sourcing and quality, working with suppliers to address material issues, and supporting production teams in resolving technical challenges. You will also manage a small team and contribute to ongoing improvements in production efficiency and cost management.

To be considered for this R&D Team Leader you will be degree educated in Chemistry or a related field. You will also have several years of experience in supervising R&D projects in a chemical manufacturer.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supporting Process Improvements

  • Technical Support: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to assist with resolving process issues and improving operations.
  • Laboratory Work: Oversee laboratory experiments and investigations aimed at enhancing raw material quality and production processes.

2. Quality Investigations

  • Material Testing: Conduct tests and investigations to ensure raw materials meet required standards and address any quality concerns.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with safety and environmental standards.

3. Leadership

  • Team Management: Provide guidance, training, and development opportunities to team members, fostering a high-performance environment.
  • Support as Needed: Assist with shift coverage and provide technical support when required.

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry, or similar subject.
  • Several years’ experience leading R&D activities in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in physical chemistry.
  • Knowledge of quality systems.
