Temporary Contract£13.10 per hour inclusive of Holiday Pay.Several Prisons in Kent, including HMP East Sutton Park, Sutton Valence, Overview of the Kent positions:As a supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of support escorts, Hays is seeking to recruit Prison/Project Escorts similar to the Operational Support Grades (OSGs) role for several Prisons in Kent, including Sutton Valence, Maidstone and HMP Maidstone centrally located in the town.The projects are varying in duration, with a rate of £13.10 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay. They are temporary positions but with the number of projects in the pipeline the positions will continue.The roles are based on 39 hours per week Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm for Prison/Project Escort.Purpose of the Prison Escort/OSG role:As part of the security team you will be responsible for assisting in the safety and security of the establishment where your duties will include escorting visitors, building contractors, gate duties within the prison and outside areas. You will ensure the safety and security of the visitors, staff and prisoners within a Prison establishment, while persons from outside of the prison service are on site.Kent Prisons have an excellent reputation as busy local prisons, which serve all the courts in the South East. Successful applicants will have a background in customer services or security, and will be assessed based on the following competencies: Acting with integrity, respecting others, Building relationships and team working, communicating effectively, developing self and others.Full training is provided by the establishment/ department. Training time will be paid at the standard hourly rate.Security Clearance required:Immediate start if you are already Prison Cleared.All applicants will be subject to the HM Prison Service Security Clearance procedure which can take up to 4 weeks, this can include a Disclosure Baring Service (DBS) check. You must hold a Valid Passport or Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence in your current address.
