A market leader in their sector, our Client is an established and highly regarded Fresh Fruit Importer and Supplier to the major retailers. Due to success and recent growth, we are now seeking a Quality and Product Manager on their behalf.

Reporting to the Head of Technical, the position of Quality and Product Manager position will be based at a facility in Kent, working alongside the Senior Product Manager and being part of the team leading and managing the quality of fresh produce product under a specific category.

Role duties;

  • Ensure regular and ongoing feedback to the packhouse on product quality to allow for continuous quality and packing improvement.
  • Be present during the first packing for new lines/ at the beginning of seasons to ensure product meets customer requirements and yields are maximised.
  • With the support of the Senior Product Manager, make decisions on required works orders for product arriving.
  • Assist in the preparation of samples and conduct trials as required.
  • Prepare residue samples if requested by the Compliance team.
  • Assist with supplier/ quality surveyor visits when needed.
  • Take active involvement in decision making in both daily production and weekly planning.

A hands-on, pivotal role working to ensure;

Customer quality expectations are met

Suppliers are informed of requirements and the level of product quality expected

Stock levels are managed with effective rotation and rejects/returns kept to a minimum, ensuring that standards are maintained at all times.

We are seeking;

An experienced product / quality / technical individual from the Fresh Produce sector

Confident managing product team, with a hands-on, approachable manner

With knowledge of the technical standards & product quality expected by retail customers, the successful individual will be driven and passionate in this role. A

full driving licence is essential due to travel to other sites.
