This company based in Mid Kent are looking for a Trainee/Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. This company operate within the construction industry working with a variety of clients including commercial, residential and housing. THE JOB

This exciting Assistant Quantity Surveyor job will aid a growing business and will be based at their offices in Mid Kent. The role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be a varied role assisting in various areas of the business and your duties will include:

• Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation.
• Support the assessment of project feasibility by providing cost-related insights.
• Assist in the preparation and management of contracts, including reviewing terms and conditions.
• Monitor contractual compliance throughout project lifecycles.
• Conduct on-site measurements and prepare bills of quantities (BoQ).
• Support in preparing and evaluating variations and change orders.
• Monitor project costs against budgets and forecasts.
• Assist in preparing interim valuations and final accounts.
• Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure cost-effective solutions.
• Provide support during meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Identify potential cost risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Maintain accurate records for audits and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies.
• Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate documentation.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Enrolled in or recently completed a degree/diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Desirable - previous experience or internship in a quantity surveying or construction-related role.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop within the role.
