ROLE: Assistant Quantity Surveyor

THE JOB
This exciting Assistant Quantity Surveyor job will aid a growing business and will be based at their offices in Mid Kent. The role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be a varied role assisting in various areas of the business and your duties will include:
- Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation.
- Support the assessment of project feasibility by providing cost-related insights.
- Assist in the preparation and management of contracts, including reviewing terms and conditions.
- Monitor contractual compliance throughout project lifecycles.
- Conduct on-site measurements and prepare bills of quantities (BoQ).
- Support in preparing and evaluating variations and change orders.
- Monitor project costs against budgets and forecasts.
- Assist in preparing interim valuations and final accounts.
- Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Provide support during meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Identify potential cost risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Maintain accurate records for audits and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies.
- Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate documentation.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Enrolled in or recently completed a degree/diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Desirable - previous experience or internship in a quantity surveying or construction-related role.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop within the role.
