Job Description:Theyare seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will support the Quantity Surveyor in managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects.
The Candidate: Our client is looking for an ambitious individual who wants to learn in a live environment. Ideally they will have worked in a commercial environment, and have some formal commercial training , though the client will pay for university costs if studying towards a Commercial Qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing cost estimates and budgets for projects.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary data.
- Support in the preparation of tender documents, contracts, and bills of quantities.
- Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports.
- Assist in the valuation of completed work and arrange payments.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Help in resolving any contractual and commercial issues that may arise.
Requirements:
- Studying towards or due to start studying a commercial qualification on route to becoming a Quantity Surveyor.
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Office, quantity surveying software).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
