SEN Science Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join an Alternative provision in Maidstone.This role is ideal for a secondary science teacher with a passion for supporting vulnerable young people, whether transitioning from a mainstream environment or already experienced in PRU/SEMH/SEN settings.

Day to day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging science lessons to secondary students within a PRU/SEMH/Alternative Provision setting.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students and create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic support to students.
  • Develop and implement individual education plans for students with special educational needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and interventions as necessary.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and nurturing classroom atmosphere.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience as a secondary science teacher.
  • Ideally, experience in a PRU/SEMH/SEN environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and compassionate while setting firm boundaries.
  • Trustworthy, reliable, and motivated to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable young people.
