DT Teacher (Engineering Focus)

We are seeking an experienced DT Teacher with a focus on engineering to join our team after the Easter break in April 2025. This role involves teaching up to Key Stage 5 and includes all aspects of planning and marking as expected in a comprehensive teaching role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering education and must possess an up-to-date Health and Safety certificate.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging and informative lessons in Design and Technology with a focus on engineering to students up to KS5.
  • Prepare lesson plans and materials, ensuring alignment with curriculum standards.
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress through both formative and summative assessments.
  • Manage classroom resources and setup to facilitate a practical, hands-on learning environment.
  • Maintain student records and provide feedback to students and parents on academic progress.
  • Uphold health and safety standards in all activities, ensuring a safe learning environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience as a DT Teacher, specifically with an engineering focus.
  • Must have a current Health and Safety certificate.
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and recent teaching methods.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students in the field of engineering.
