Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) has an exciting opportunity available for a Enforcement Manager to join our team in Maidstone. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a base salary of £47,076 - £52,397 per annum depending upon experience. This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week in the office (with travel countrywide, based on needs).

About the Enforcement Manager role:

As our Enforcement Manager, you will advise and support Fire Risk Inspection Managers and Inspectors countywide to ensure consistency in all day-to-day enforcement processes, including the management of the Enforcement Co-ordinators.

What you'll do as our Enforcement Manager:

  • Plan, organise, lead and manage regulatory investigations in accordance with best practice and regulatory standards
  • Regularly review service guidance, standards and performance to assure the effectiveness; within the context of enforcement practice and compliance to meet requirements of current regulation guidelines, industry and legal standards
  • Quality assure the management all enforcement cases
  • Provide ongoing support, coaching and mentoring to upskill/ develop all Fire Safety Inspectors and managers to take ownership of cases that will require judicial intervention to achieve compliance
  • Take the lead role in the day-to-day management of the Duty Fire Safety Manager rota

What you'll bring:

  • In depth knowledge of fire safety legislation, risk assessment auditing and fire safety solutions.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of fire safety building regulations and guidance, including BS9999, smoke control, and sprinklers.
  • Ability to communicate issues, principles and ideas to a wide range of internal and external customers.
  • Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety (or equivalent) acquired through a competency based framework for Business Fire Safety regulators.
  • Experience In leading formal fire safety related inspections, audits, and investigations including complex or high risk premises.
