This position would suit someone who's got several years QC experience within Fresh Produce, perhaps being a Senior QC or QC Team Lead, and someone who is wanting to take more responsibility.---

Responsible for product category: Allocation decisions, stock management, product quality and consignment profitability.  This role is the key liaison between the packhouse and the buying, commercial and technical teams ensuring the business makes the right quality decisions for the customer, as well as supporting the business to deliver the budgeted profit on product consignments.---

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  • Responsible for Top Fruit predominantly but also support of the Soft Fruit category
  • Responsible for product allocation decisions.
  • Responsible for product quality decisions and communicate effectively between cross functional teams.
  • Liaison between packhouse/ operations, buying, commercial and technical teams.
  • Ensure the right decisions are made for the product and customer.
  • Takes ownership of the end to end operational flow on product consignments ensuring the business delivers the budgeted profitability.  
  • Stock management (in line with the procurement team)
  • Updating stock sheets
  • Prepare stock reports for internal meetings
  • Filling out stock trackers
  • Check on stock arrivals
  • Communicating on delivery discrepancies
  • Managing rejections and collections
  • Works with 3rd party service providers collaboratively to ensure that QA processes are consistent and efficient to reduce customer complaints, rejections, wastage and all other associated costs, whilst always protecting product quality.
  • Works collaboratively and builds professional relationships with 3rd party QA, warehouse, site and operational teams.
  • Builds a professional and collaborative way of working with 3rd party packing sites/ SP’s.
  • Supports the technical function with customer management, where required.
