If so, we are looking for a Childrens Crisis Support Worker to join our team, providing vital care and stability in unregulated placements.

About Us: Prospero Health & Social Care provides short-term, emergency, and crisis support for children and young people who are unable to be placed in standard residential settings. Our unregulated placements offer safe and secure environments where young people can receive immediate support while long-term solutions are being arranged. We are committed to providing high-quality care, tailored to the complex needs of each child during these critical times.

The Role:

As a Childrens Crisis Support Worker, you will be responsible for supporting children and young people who are experiencing crisis or emergency situations. You will provide emotional and practical support, ensuring their immediate safety and well-being while helping them to cope with challenging circumstances.

Responsibilities include: 路 Offering 24/7 care and supervision in emergency placements. 路 Building trust with children who may be distressed, angry, or anxious. 路 Managing complex behaviours and maintaining a calm, supportive atmosphere. 路 Assisting with daily routines, including meals, and recreational activities. 路 Working alongside social workers and other professionals to assess and respond to the needs of each young person. 路 Conducting regular Key work sessions with the young person 路 Supporting children through transitions into more stable placements or long-term care.

Key Responsibilities: 路 Providing emotional support and a listening ear to children during times of crisis. 路 Maintaining a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. 路 Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner. 路 Completing detailed, accurate records of incidents, behaviour, and progress. 路 Collaborating with the wider care team to ensure the childs needs are met. 路 Adhering to safeguarding policies and ensuring the childs safety is always the top priority. Requirements: 路 A minimum of 1 years UK experience working with vulnerable children and young people within a residential setting or similar 路 Must be able to provide 3 years professional references 路 Must have an Enhanced Adult & Child DBS registered on the update service or be willing to process a new one with Prospero 路 A calm, empathetic, and patient approach, even under pressure. 路 Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 路 Ability to manage emotionally charged situations and provide support in a crisis. 路 Flexibility to work on a shift basis, including nights, weekends, and holidays. 路 A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
