On behalf of the client, the organisation is recruiting a support worker to provide daytime support to a 59 year old man with a brain injury living in his own home.

They are looking to fill a rota providing 1:1 support for 10 hour shift/s on weekdays, including occasional cover on weekends and bank holidays. 

Their client enjoys getting out into the community, therefore driving and being a car-owner is essential. He likes going to the gym, eating out and watching football. He enjoys talking to people. He requires prompts in most aspects of his life, including managing his medicine.  The role includes shopping, preparing his meals and light domestic tasks. He has an excellent sense of humour and enjoys a bit of banter.

What does the role offer you?

  • An extensive induction and training programme offering support and guidance every step of the way. 
  • Regular supervision/appraisal with the Team Leader and Case Manager and ongoing support from the wider team and therapists as appropriate.
  • Opportunities to learn, progress and develop in the role – CPD actively encouraged and supported.
  • To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Have up to date DBS at enhanced level – paid for by the employer if you need to apply.
  • Must hold a driving licence and drive your own car.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, with patience, and kindness at all times, to ensure safety and well-being of the client.
