Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a supportive and dedicated Children's Residential Care Home. Our homes focus on providing a nurturing and caring environment for children and young people, helping them to thrive. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Residential Childcare Worker who is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of young people.

The Role:

As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will be responsible for the day-to-day care and support of children and young people within the home. You will be a key figure in helping them navigate their daily routines, offering guidance, structure, and emotional support. This role requires an individual with compassion, resilience, and a strong commitment to the welfare of young people:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the daily living activities of children and young people, ensuring their needs are met and that they feel safe and supported.
  • Assist with the administration of medication, and following care plans and procedures to ensure the health and safety of all residents.
  • Participate in activities and outings, encouraging the social, emotional, and physical development of the young people.
  • Maintain positive relationships with young people, promoting their self-esteem, independence, and personal growth.
  • Ensure that all safeguarding protocols are followed, reporting any concerns in line with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records, including daily logs, risk assessments, and care plans.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to provide consistent and high-quality care.

Leadership and Recruitment:

  • Provide care and support under the guidance of the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities, including relevant training and qualifications.
  • Contribute to the recruitment and onboarding of new team members by sharing best practices and supporting new staff in their roles.
  • Be a positive role model for the children and staff, demonstrating patience, resilience, and empathy in all interactions.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a residential childcare setting or personal experience relevant to the role.
  • A valid driving license.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Willingness to work towards HNC / SVQ 3 in Health & Social Care or an equivalent qualification.
  • Compassionate, resilient, and committed to supporting the well-being of young people.

Job Type: Full-time - in person

Salary Range : £32,000 - £38,000 per annum
