The Role

As a Social Worker in the Children in Care Team, you will:

  • Manage a diverse caseload with reflective supervision, providing focused and analytical assessments.
  • Develop SMART care plans and reviews with clear objectives and measurable outcomes to support children in achieving positive futures.
  • Work directly with children and young people to understand their lived experiences, wishes, and feelings.
  • Use the Signs of Safety practice model to deliver strength-based and relationship-focused interventions.
  • Prepare and present high-quality reports for various professional settings, including Looked After Children Reviews, Legal Planning Meetings, and Court Proceedings.
  • Undertake life-story work with children to help them understand their journey and identity.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners to coordinate services and support for children and their families.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualifications: A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England. Successful completion of the ASYE year is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience: Demonstrable experience in child protection, court work, permanence planning, and direct work with children and families.
  • Skills: Strong communication, assessment, and analytical skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and produce high-quality reports.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and the application of theoretical frameworks in social work practice.
  • Other Requirements: A car driver with daily access to a vehicle for business purposes.
