Medway Youth Justice service has recently moved under the management of Children's Services. An His Majesty's Inspectorate of Probation (HMIP) inspection is anticipated in the first half of 2025, and in preparation, the service has recently undertaken a 'mock' inspection to support self-assessment and identification of areas for improvement. Medway YJS was last inspected by HMIP in June 2020 and received a rating of "Requires Improvement."Medway Council is seeking to commission an individual to assist the Assistant Director and Head of Service in responding to the recommendations of the mock inspection, and to support the service to plan and implement a programme of improvement. The successful candidate will be required to come into the office as and when needed. Initially they will be expected to have a presence in the office as this will be beneficial to the person conducting the role. Elements of the role will involve developing our YJ board alongside key stakeholders in physical meetings.
