- Manage a diverse caseload of Children & Families, including complex cases, ensuring high-quality assessments, reviews, and timely interventions.
- Prepare welfare reports and attend court as required.
- Develop close working relationships with statutory agencies, voluntary and private sector organisations, carers, and parents to ensure effective outcomes for children and families.
- Record accurate and timely information using agreed systems.
- Maintain an excellent understanding of legislation, policies, and procedures related to Looked After Children, Children in Need, and Child Protection to deliver consistent, high-quality services.
- Degree in Social Work (Dip HE/Degree or Post Grad).
- Registration as a social worker with Social Work England.
- ASYE must be completed if more than two years post-qualified.
- In-depth understanding of child development, including attachment theory and the needs of children in various care and protection systems.
- Sound knowledge of legislation, policies, and frameworks related to Looked After Children, Children in Need, and Child Protection.
- Awareness of factors affecting families, including mental health, domestic violence, and substance misuse.
