Learning Support Assistant - Thanet

Full-time - Monday to Friday

£83.33 per day

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of primary and secondary- aged children and young people with profound, severe, and complex learning difficulties, including ASD? If so, we have the perfect role for you!

As a Teaching Assistant at this exceptional special needs school, you'll have the opportunity to work in a supportive and inclusive environment dedicated to providing high-quality education and care to children and young people aged 2-19 with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with profound, severe, and complex learning difficulties, including ASD, in their daily activities and learning.
  • Assisting with personal care tasks as needed, ensuring the comfort and well-being of students.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to implement individualised education plans (EHCPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.

Requirements:

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) preferred.
  • Ability to provide personal care assistance, including toileting and feeding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and resilience.
  • Willingness to undergo relevant background checks and obtain necessary clearances.
  • Hold an enhanced child -only DBS on the update service or be willing to get a new one
