We are seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in Maidstone. This role is perfect for an individual dedicated to assisting in the education and development of students with special educational needs. The successful candidate will work across various classes, providing support to lead teachers and adapting activities according to student needs.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons tailored to special needs students under the direction of the lead teacher.
  • Support the implementation of educational and behavioural plans with an aim to meet individual student needs.
  • Facilitate inclusive learning experiences and ensure accessibility for all students.
  • Monitor and support the progress of students both academically and socially.
  • Encourage students' confidence and independence.
  • Manage classroom resources and setup required for specific activities.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on students' progress and challenges.
  • Assist with the management of student behaviour to maintain a constructive classroom environment.
  • Help with the preparation and maintenance of accurate records on student development and activities.
  • Participate in training sessions and meetings as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must hold a current DBS check in date or be registered on the update service.
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or similar role, preferably within an SEN setting.
  • Understanding of the needs of students with a range of learning, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive, empathetic approach towards student learning.
