Role and Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant position:

  • You will be providing 1-2-1 support for a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN), focusing on their individual plan and tailoring your guidance appropriately.
  • You will be assisting in the development of the child's social, emotional and academic progress ensuring you are creating a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • You will work closely with the classroom teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to ensure that the child's needs are met and that you are appropriately adapting their activities.
  • You will help to manage challenging behaviours using established behavioural management strategies to ensure a positive learning experience for all children in the class.
  • You will encourage independence and self-confidence in the child, supporting their day-to-day tasks and promoting their personal development
