We are a special school for students aged 11-18 with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, located in Maidstone. Day-to-day of the role:

  • Assist students with their educational and social development, both individually and in groups.
  • Support individual students inside and outside the classroom, enabling full participation in activities.
  • Assist teachers with maintaining student records.
  • Build and maintain successful relationships with students, treating them with respect and consideration.
  • Deliver a personalised curriculum for each pupil’s learning.
  • Collaborate with families and other agencies to ensure comprehensive support for pupils.
  • Maintain high expectations for sustained academic and personal progress of all pupils.
  • Promote readiness for the next steps in learning and support participation in modern British life.
  • Encourage and promote positive behaviour in and out of the classroom.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with young people in an academic setting or as a volunteer.
  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in literacy and numeracy.
  • Committed to personal learning and development.
  • Enthusiastic, focused, and resilient to day-to-day classroom pressures.
