SEN Science Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join an Alternative provision in Maidstone.This role is ideal for a secondary science teacher with a passion for supporting vulnerable young people, whether transitioning from a mainstream environment or already experienced in PRU/SEMH/SEN settings.
Day to day of the role:
- Deliver engaging science lessons to secondary students within a PRU/SEMH/Alternative Provision setting.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students and create an inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic support to students.
- Develop and implement individual education plans for students with special educational needs.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and interventions as necessary.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and nurturing classroom atmosphere.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable but not essential.
- Experience as a secondary science teacher.
- Ideally, experience in a PRU/SEMH/SEN environment.
- Ability to remain calm and compassionate while setting firm boundaries.
- Trustworthy, reliable, and motivated to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable young people.
