Prospero Teaching is working with SEN schools across Essex and Kent, that often require teacher cover for planned and sudden absences. You must have experience as a SEN Teacher, working with pupils with various additional needs. There is excellent TA support in class.

Duties:

  • Planning and Preparation: Plan and prepare engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEN.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain the classroom and equipment in a safe and tidy condition, ensuring a positive learning environment.
  • Teaching: Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences, using a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Assess and evaluate students' progress through regular observations, tests, and assessments, providing feedback and reports.
  • Individual Education Plans (IEPs): Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN, setting achievable and realistic goals.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' progress, attendance, and behaviour.
  • Communication: Collaborate with other school staff, parents, and external agencies to support students' learning and development.
  • Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices and new teaching methods in SEN education.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement effective behaviour management strategies to promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support and Guidance: Provide emotional and academic support to students, helping them to build confidence and develop social skills.
  • Inclusion Promotion: Promote, support, and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities.
  • Use of Resources: Utilise appropriate technical and educational resources to enhance teaching and support learning.
