We are seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teacher to join our dynamic team in Maidstone. This role is ideal for a compassionate professional who is committed to teaching students with special educational needs. The successful candidate will lead lessons across a variety of classes, tailored to the unique requirements of each student.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences for special needs students.
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with curriculum objectives specific for SEN.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Observe and evaluate student performance and development.
- Provide appropriate feedback on work.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
- Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws and school policies.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
- Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Current DBS check in date or registered on the update service.
- Proven experience as a Special Needs Teacher or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of the curriculum and SEN strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
