Supply Teacher (SEND)

  • Location: Maidstone
  • Job Type: Long-term, Immediate Start

We are seeking a dedicated Supply Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school located near Ashford. This role is ideal for a generalist teacher who is comfortable covering English and has a passion for working with 14-16 year olds with SEND needs.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across various subjects, with a focus on English.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
  • Maintain a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to plan and coordinate lessons.
  • Monitor and support the progress and development of students.
  • Handle any classroom challenges with sensitivity and assertiveness.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in an SEND environment is highly desirable.
  • Alternatively, substantial experience as a teacher with demonstrated empathy and understanding for students with SEND needs.
  • Ability to drive, as commuting to the school may require a car.
