Home Based With Occasional Travel when needed

ROLE PURPOSE

Our client is looking for a CYP Tutor to assist learners up to level 5 in residential
childcare settings. To provide experience of working in setting to all apprentices.
The role is hybrid. You can be expected to travel at least 1.5 - 2 hours in your region to see
learners. Expectation to see a learner face to face once a quarter.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To fully enrol and induct learners onto the correct programme in line with company
procedure and/or compliance with applicable funding rules.

To provide appropriate ongoing information, advice & guidance to learners and
employers within remit of own role and area of expertise.

To complete skills scans prior to commencing learning and at key milestones during
the learner journey. Appropriately plan, sequence and evidence learning to ensure
that knowledge, skills and behaviours are embedded and built on throughout the
qualification and prepares the learner sufficiently for end point assessment.

To be responsible for and effectively manage a caseload/cohort of learners, ensuring
key performance targets are achieved and learners complete their programme of
learning and/or qualification(s) within agreed timescales.

To ensure each month that the learner has been engaged with learner and is making
sufficient progress to ensure that they are supported to meet key milestones and
achieve timely.

Attending teaching and learning sessions and work towards the related training plan
and knowledge, skills and behaviours.

Completing assessments with you as the skills coach where detailed and
constructive feedback has been provided.

Completing observations where detailed and constructive feedback has been
provided.

Assessing and providing detailed and constructive feedback to any submitted learner
work.

Work in partnership with the employer and learner to review learner progress every 8
to 10 weeks and set SMART objectives.

To liaise with the learner and employer to ensure that the learners’ training and
development needs are met. For apprenticeship learners, at least the minimum off-
the-job training is delivered throughout the practical training period of the
apprenticeship programme.

To provide learner progress updates to the learner’s manager to promote effective
communication and positive working relationships.

To effectively plan and carry out holistic assessment and sign off units and/or areas
of competence on an ongoing basis as knowledge, skills and behaviours are
demonstrated.

For learners that have been identified as having additional learning support needs,
plan and adapt delivery following the cognassist individual learning plan to help
individuals perform at their best in education and work.

Provide learners with developmental constructive feedback, ongoing throughout the
learner journey to stretch and challenge all learner to achieve and celebrate their
accomplishments

Support learners to engage with technology (e-portfolio, Zoom, teams, emails,
skype), ensure learners have been provided with sufficient
support/teaching/guidance to enable them to fully access the course content and
resources and maximise learner experience.

To assess work submitted by the learner in a timely manner (maximum of 5 working
days) and provide detailed and constructive feedback to the learner on achievements
and areas for further development. Ensure feedback links and references prior
learning to support the learner to understand where prior learning links with new
knowledge, skills, and behaviours.

To deliver commercial training courses to employers and their staff in subjects you
are occupationally experienced and competent in.

 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

An assessor qualification

Minimum level 3 teaching qual (ideally higher) but must be willing to work to a level 5.

Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or equivalent ( TAQA, A1
/A2 or TDLB Units D32/33)

Relevant vocational qualification in area of occupational competence

A recognised Level 3 teaching qualification ( PTLLS, L3 Award in Education &
Training) or above

Experience working in CYP as a manager.
