About the role:

Four Jays Group Ltd are a subsidiary of Heathcote Holdings and offer an exciting opportunity for a Vehicle Technician based near Headcorn, Kent.

As a key member of the workshop, you will carry out vehicle examinations, repairs, and maintenance tasks and be able to work alone with the support of the Transport Manager. Your role as a technician will ensure all vehicles meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, performance and safety. Vehicles include Ford, Mercedes and Isuzu.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities for Vehicle Technician

  • As a technician you will diagnose, repair and maintain cars, vans and welfare units, generators etc ensuring all work meets high standards.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance to keep vehicles and welfare units in optimal working condition.
  • Work with the Transport Manager and other yard technicians to provide efficient solutions for technical issues.
  • Maintain safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized workshop environment.
  • Provide updates to customers on repairs and address any concerns, maintaining excellent customer service.

About you:

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills and a 'Can Do Attitude'
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Previous experience as a technician working with cars and vans is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast- paced environment.

The type of work you can expect to be carrying out includes (but is not limited to):

  • Routine and preventative maintenance
  • MOT preparation
  • Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
  • 6 or 8 weekly inspections
  • Correction of running defects
  • Chassis and fabrication work
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Improvement of vehicle standards
  • Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections

Desired:

Fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.
