Workshop vehicle technician required to join a well-established Kent-based company provides portable sanitation and welfare facilities for events, construction, and agriculture, along with comprehensive waste management services. Recently acquired by a larger group, they have expanded their offerings to include waste disposal solutions across Kent, East Sussex, and South London. As their operations continue to grow, they are currently seeking a skilled vehicle technician to join their team and support their expanding fleet.

Vehicle Technician Job Overview
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain cars, vans, welfare units, generators, and other equipment to ensure all work meets high standards.
  • Carry out routine and preventive maintenance to keep vehicles and welfare units in top working condition.
  • Collaborate with the Transport Manager and yard technicians to efficiently resolve technical issues.
  • Regular and preventive maintenance
  • Preparing vehicles for MOT inspections
  • Scheduled servicing in compliance with DVSA standards
  • 6 or 8-week safety inspections
  • Diagnosing and repairing operational faults
  • Chassis repairs and fabrication work
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Enhancing and upgrading vehicle standards
  • Inspecting and repairing electrical systems and wiring
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workshop environment.
  • Communicate repair progress to customers, address concerns, and deliver excellent customer service.
  • This is a workshop-based position with the occasional need to attend breakdowns.
Vehicle Technician Job Requirements
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills and a "Can Do Attitude"
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Manual driving licence.
  • Strong mechanical skillset
  • Previous experience as a technician working with cars and vans is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Vehicle Technician Salary & Benefits
  • £15-£17 an hour dependant on experience
