Import Customs Administrator - Maldon - 31,000 per annum

Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM

We are looking for an experienced Import Customs Administrator to join a dynamic team. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth processing of import declarations and the compliance of goods entering the UK. If you have previous experience in customs declarations and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

Recognise client commercial invoices and packing lists, extracting data for import declarations.

Liaise with importers, exporters, and internal teams to gather necessary information for import entries.

Enter import details into specialised customs software

Allocate the correct licences based on the type of goods being imported.

Calculate and process taxes and duties for buyers of goods.

Apply for duty refunds and tariff re-classification, assisting with any appeals that may arise.

Advise customers on import/export restrictions, tariffs, insurance requirements, and all customs-related matters.

Process import documentation

Arrange the release of goods from Customs approved sites (ETSF) and ports, coordinating with internal teams on transport and warehousing.

Complete 75+ entries per week with accuracy.

Essential Requirements:

Proven experience in a similar import customs role and prior customs declaration experience.

Strong knowledge of import customs regulations and associated systems.

Accuracy is key - attention to detail is essential.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers and internal teams.

Ability to manage high volumes of work efficiently.
