Job Location: Maldon District Council(Essex)

Description

- This role will lead the Council’s Finance Team working directly to, and with, the Council’s Chief Finance Officer (Section 151 Officer) and deputising for them. The right candidate will be able to inspire the team to achieve high performance and make a positive contribution to the delivery of our Medium-Term Financial Plan. As a key role it will provide the right candidate an opportunity to get invaluable experience across a range of key areas within the Council.

- We are looking for someone that has a drive for success, resilient, has excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and negotiate across a range of diverse subjects and stakeholders, working with minimum supervision. You will also need to be able to motivate and work under pressure to achieve tight deadlines and to make a real positive contribution to the overall work of the Council.

- To deliver this role you will be a fully qualified accountant and have a good in-depth knowledge, understanding and experience of local government finance. You will fully understand the complexities of local government and the changing and challenging environment within which we work and be able to contribute positively to helping the Council successfully deliver its goals.
