M4 Recruitment are currently recruiting for Machine Operatives for one of our clients, based on the outskirts of Swindon.

This is for a maufacturing company.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Operation of specialist laser cutting machines to manufacture high quality products at the required quality and output levels.
  • Follow quality monitoring processes and procedures to ensure the highest standards possible and provide feedback to supervisors when required. Ensure correct boxes are used. All products to be cleaned thoroughly prior to boxing.
  • Monitor all waste and non - compliant product and record all such occurrences, requesting re-prints and replacement boxes when required.
  • Scan all jobs onto the ERP system in real time to ensure up to date information on all production processes.
  • Prioritise health and safety in all areas of operation, ensuring adherence to all risk assessments, safe systems of work and training. PPE to be worn whenever required.
  • Machine maintenance, cleaning, trouble shooting and fault finding, working in conjunction with technical department when required.
  • Display excellent levels of teamwork and co-operation when working with colleagues in other departments / other areas of production.
  • Maintain log sheets of filter change activity and gas changeovers.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment at all times, ensuring high levels of housekeeping and suggesting improvements wherever possible.
  • Follow all required protocols when operating the lasers, such as start-up and shut- down procedures and accurately ID stamping all finished products.
  • Maintain stocks of bags and inserts and ensure that correct specifications of both are used for each product.
  • Participate in and ensure complete accuracy of periodic stock takes whenever required.
Your own transport will be required due to the location of the company, unless you live local to the area.
