Reed Accountancy are currently representing a reputable business based in Malmesbury in finding a highly experienced Finance Manager to join their Family Finance function. The Finance Manager will collaborate with the Head of Family Finance and the Family Finance team to support the Family’s personal finance, private businesses, and charities. This role is based in a dynamic Family Office and requires extensive collaboration with Family members’ PAs/support staff and other teams within the wider Family Office.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Family personal cashflows, business and charity accounting, including reviews of reconciliations, monthly/quarterly management reporting, and implementation of controls where weaknesses are identified.
  • Maintain robust cash flow forecasts for personal and business finances to enable appropriate planning of cash deposits, investments, banking arrangements, and other expenditures. Collaborate with the Family Investment Manager to select suitable investments in line with each Family member’s cash management strategy.
  • Manage liquidity for Family members, ensuring a balance between liquidity and return, and appropriate FX provisions.
  • Prepare and analyze information for meetings with Family members, including the production of personal accounts, analysis, and forecasts, and attend relevant meetings.
  • Oversee the production of information for personal and business tax compliance purposes, including reviewing VAT returns.
  • Provide Finance Business Partner support to Family businesses by attending business meetings, presenting financial reports and analysis, and offering corporate financial advice.
  • Coordinate and oversee the production and review of statutory accounts for all Family businesses and Trusts.
  • Review and support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts prepared by business managers.
  • Maintain a statement of assets for each Family member to ensure their financial position is clearly understood, monitored, and updated.
  • Produce financial information for royalty reporting biannually.
  • Streamline and improve processes in all areas of Family Finance.
  • Address ad hoc queries from Family members and their support staff, ensuring consistent and reliable service

Person Specification / Core Competencies:

  • Qualified accountant with 2-5 years PQE.
  • Previous experience in a role reporting to senior management.
  • Commitment to meeting demanding reporting deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and recognize the importance of sharing relevant information within the wider Family Office.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with an ERP system is desirable.
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Willingness to take responsibility and ownership of tasks.
  • Ability to work autonomously while possessing strong teamwork skills.
  • Strong sense of discretion, appreciating the confidentiality of the work.
  • Keen to suggest improvements to current ways of working.
