Production Supervisor

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of Sheet Metal Fabrication and Finishing Departments. This role is pivotal in supervising and supporting the production team, encouraging continuous improvement, and ensuring smooth operations within the departments.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Help and support all production processes including bending, welding, and assembly.
  • Manage and adapt to changes in priorities using proactive planning, working to the production schedule, and reporting at weekly production meetings.
  • Manage daily and weekly production KPIs – Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Inventory.
  • Drive 5S activities through training and auditing against Standard Work Instructions.
  • Assist with shop floor activities as required.
  • Strive for and encourage continuous improvement, raising and supporting opportunities to remove waste, risks, and costs through best practice and lean tools.
  • Lead and participate in teams to investigate, determine, and implement corrective actions to resolve the root cause of non-conformance in products, processes, or systems.
  • Maintain excellent communication skills, working effectively and professionally with both internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Identify and assist in the creation of work instructions and procedures for defined processes within operational departments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks and raise any issues through the appropriate channels.
  • Carry out structured and audited training for your team based on Standard Work Instructions.
  • Ensure the flexibility of working hours within your team to meet business needs.
  • Liaise closely with the engineering and quality department to develop existing and new processes.
  • Encourage good health, safety, and environmental practices in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure company Handbook rules are consistently followed throughout your department.
  • Represent your team at meetings when required and create a safe environment for visitors, contractors, and employees.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and support a production team.
  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication and finishing processes.
  • Proven ability to manage production schedules and KPIs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards.
Benefits:
  • 40-hour work week (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday).
