Electrical Design Engineer Permanent Full-TimeSalary - Circa £45,000 DOELocation - Hybrid, MaltonWe're excited to be supporting a design and manufacturing company with decades of experience in providing market-leading modular storage and rotating steelwork solutions across the commercial, industrial, construction, and engineering sectors.They're seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to produce electrical engineering designs in SolidWorks/AutoCAD for modular buildings, equipment housings, and other applications.Responsibilities, but are not limited to

  • Develop electrical engineering designs in SolidWorks/AutoCAD for modular buildings, equipment housings, and other related applications
  • Provide input during the tender phase and assist through all stages of contract completion, ensuring designs meet client specifications and regulatory standards
  • Create detailed LV electrical system designs, including cable calculations, electrical schematic drawings, and heating/ventilation and lighting calculations
  • Design electrical control systems, including SCADA systems and control panels
  • Produce specifications for bespoke electrical equipment and subcontracted electrical subsystems such as fire alarms, communication systems, heating and ventilation systems, and intruder alarms
  • Prepare and check detailed drawings and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards
  • Specify individual components for electrical systems, ensuring they meet the required standards for performance and safety
  • Review and check electrical layouts produced by other Design Engineers, providing guidance and ensuring quality control throughout the design process

Experiences required

  • Minimum of a HNC in Electrical Engineering, with experience in a relevant role post-qualification
  • Competent in designing using SolidWorks/AutoCAD or similar (Inventor, DraftSight, Fusion 360, Solid Edge, CATIA, Creo, Onshape)
  • Proficient in LV electrical designs (BMS, HVAC, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, lighting, control panels, power distribution)
  • Must hold a minimum of the 17th edition wiring regulation (BS 7671:2008)
  • Experience using Trimble or Dialux is advantageous
