Job Summary: We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will support the finance department by managing daily accounting tasks and ensuring the company’s financial operations run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Transactions: Process and record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and expense reports.
- Invoicing: Prepare and issue invoices to customers, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. Follow up on outstanding invoices and manage collections.
- Data Entry: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the accounting system. Ensure all data is entered correctly and promptly.
- Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Provide support during audits and financial reviews.
- Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
- Support: Provide administrative support to the finance team, including filing, photocopying, and managing correspondence.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting regulations. Assist in the implementation of new accounting procedures and policies.
- Communication: Liaise with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders to resolve any financial queries or issues.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
Working Hours: This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. Some flexibility may be required during peak financial periods.
