About the Company:A well-established and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Manchester is seeking an ambitious Accounts Semi Senior to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant to further develop their skills and experience working with a varied client base.

The Role:As an Accounts Semi Senior, you will assist with the preparation of accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients, including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships. You will work closely with senior accountants and managers, providing high-quality service to clients while continuing your professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP.
  • Completing VAT returns and bookkeeping for clients.
  • Assisting with the preparation of corporate tax computations.
  • Liaising with clients to gather required information and address queries.
  • Assisting with the audit process as required, including audit testing and documentation.
  • Supporting senior accountants with ad-hoc assignments and client work.
  • Working with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and Excel.
  • Maintaining accurate and organised client records.
  • Ensuring work is completed within agreed deadlines and budgets.

Requirements:

  • AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) with at least 1-2 years of experience in an accountancy practice.
  • Strong experience in preparing accounts and VAT returns.
  • Working knowledge of UK GAAP and tax regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clients.
  • Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and Excel.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • A willingness to learn and develop, with a strong commitment to professional growth.
