Assistant Management Accountant // Manchester City Centre // @£35-£40k DOE / Study Support // Hybrid (2 office days)Do have the ambition to progress in a role and complete your studies alongside this?  Medlock Partners are delighted to be assisting our client, a successful, rapidly expanding SME Technology business based in Manchester, as they look to recruit a talented Assistant Management Accountant into their busy accounts function.  The Assistant Management Accountant will fulfil an imperative role within the finance team, supporting on the delivery of accurate and timely management accounts.  With excellent support and mentoring, you'll gain wide exposure to a variety of aspects of the finance function as well as the opportunity to get involved in various projects such as system implementation and process improvement pieces.  The ideal candidate will be an ambitious, part- qualified Accountant who is keen to progress their career within a fast paced, acquisitional technology business that can offer a varied remit.  Duties:
  • Support with the completion of monthly management accounts
  • Take responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations including accruals, prepayments and the fixed asset register
  • Post monthly journals, such as accruals and prepayments
  • Intercompany postings and reconciliation for multiple entities
  • Assisting with the expenses and credit card management system
  • Support and assist in dealing with US tax entries; sales and corporation tax
  • Provide cover for colleagues when necessary
  • Support on the year end audit, resolving queries with accompanying evidence etc.
  • Implement processes for continuous improvement
  • Ad hoc project work
  • Assist the Management Accountant and the wider finance team with ad-hoc tasks
  Experience and Skills  
  • ACCA/CIMA studier, preferably part qualified
  • Ambitious and driven with a positive mindset
  • Experience within an accounts department
  • Good understanding of double-entry book-keeping
  • Previous experience of posting basic GL transactions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to work on own initiative,
  • Able to plan/organise own workload and work to deadlines
  • Strong Excel skills incl Vlookups, pivot tables
  • A desire to be part of a fast-paced and high growth business
  • Previous exposure to SaaS would be beneficial
