Axon Moore are working with a well-established business operating across the UK to appoint an Assistant Property Accountant. You will support with the financial maintenance of part of their property portfolio which covers residential and commercial sectors. Over the last 15 years, they have amassed a portfolio of over 120 properties and this number keeps on growing!You will be involved with transactional elements and gain experience in service charge reporting, budgeting and reconciliation for a portfolio of commercial and mixed-use properties. You will join a team of Property Accountants, working within a larger team in Finance, to deliver a service to clients and their residents.Salary and benefits:Salary - £25,000 - £30,000 DOE plus study support, hybrid working 2 days from home once settled in the role, 25 days holiday plus banks and your birthday off, pension, life assurance x3, C2W, wellbeing support, discounts app, plus many more!Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting the Property Accountant on a portfolio of properties.
  • Review and analyse expenditure including accruals and prepayments to produce budget vs. actual reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of service charge accounts and associated schedules for auditors and deal with any queries.
  • Prepare and process invoices for service charges
  • Process and pay supplier invoices
  • Assist with queries from various stakeholders
  • Prepare and process service charge invoices.
  • Regular bank reconciliations and processing bank entries including cheques and credit cards.
  • Any ad-hoc duties to assist the wider team to cover during annual leave and busy periods, especially as deadlines approach.
Experience & Skill Requirements:
  • Experience in a transactional role, experience within property would be beneficial
  • AAT studier or interested in picking this up
  • Knowledge of Excel and experience using accounting systems
  • Positive attitude and desire to develop professionally
  • Demonstrable high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate accuracy and pay attention to detail
  • Work unsupervised in a mature, courteous and professional manner
  • Positive approach, committed, reliable and happy to support fellow team members.
