About the Company:A forward-thinking and growing accountancy practice in Manchester is looking for an ambitious Audit Semi Senior to join their team. This role is ideal for part-qualified accountants looking to develop their audit skills and take the next step in their career, working with a diverse portfolio of clients.

The Role:As an Audit Semi Senior, you will support audit assignments from planning through to completion, working closely with senior auditors and managers. You will gain exposure to a variety of sectors and clients, helping you build a broad range of experience in the audit field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the planning, execution, and completion of audits for a range of clients, ensuring compliance with UK auditing standards.
  • Preparing audit documentation, including audit testing, risk assessments, and control reviews.
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements under UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Working on-site with clients, developing an understanding of their operations and financial systems.
  • Liaising with clients to address audit queries and provide support throughout the audit process.
  • Supporting senior auditors with the delivery of audit work, ensuring deadlines are met and work is completed to a high standard.
  • Preparing sections of the audit file and ensuring audit working papers are well-documented and reviewed.
  • Assisting with the preparation of corporate tax computations and other compliance work as needed.
  • Attending client meetings and participating in discussions regarding audit findings and recommendations.
  • Ensuring any issues identified during the audit are communicated effectively and addressed with clients.

Requirements:

  • Part-qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) with at least 1-2 years of experience in audit within an accountancy practice.
  • Experience in assisting with audits, including preparing audit working papers and drafting financial statements.
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and audit regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive and problem-solving approach to work, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience with audit software and accounting packages such as CaseWare, Sage, or Xero would be beneficial.
