About the Company:A reputable and dynamic accountancy practice based in Manchester is seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join their expanding team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse client portfolio and play a key role in delivering high-quality audit services.

The Role:As an Audit Senior, you will lead audit assignments from planning through to completion, managing your own portfolio of clients. You will work closely with both clients and internal teams, ensuring the delivery of exceptional audit services while mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and executing audits for a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with UK auditing standards.
  • Leading audit teams on-site, providing guidance and support throughout the audit process.
  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Conducting risk assessments and evaluating internal controls to identify areas for improvement.
  • Managing client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for audit-related queries and advice.
  • Reviewing the work of junior staff and providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Preparing detailed audit reports and presenting findings to clients and management.
  • Monitoring budgets and timelines to ensure audits are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.
  • Assisting with business development initiatives, including identifying opportunities for additional services to clients.

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 3-5 years of experience in audit within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and auditing standards.
  • Proven experience in leading audit assignments and managing client relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • A proactive and analytical approach to problem-solving, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in audit software and accounting packages such as CaseWare, Sage, or Xero.
